#MySQL Database Administrator Quest Groups

MySQL DBA
This position will setup good MySQL practices, design and implement database disaster recovery and failover processes, design, implement and monitor database backup and recovery processes, deploy and upgrade databases as needed and troubleshoot database issues. Responsible for engineering, administration, tuning, monitoring and support of Monitoring and Reporting databases in our production data centers.The DBA will interface with engineers responsible for the Monitoring and Reporting Systems; aiding with database design and functionality.  The DBA will be on call for 24×7 production issues.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

• Administer, tune, monitor MySQL databases in our production data centers
• Support engineering and staging database environments
• Design/administer backup/recovery processes
• Design/Implement disaster recovery and failover processes
• Deploy and upgrade databases as needed
• Troubleshoot database issues
• Interface with Monitoring/Reporting engineers on database design and schemas

Qualifications
Required:

• BS in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
• 3-4 years of operational MySQL database skills in a Linux production environment
• Experience with MySQL installation, upgrades, deployment and tuning required in a Linux environment
• Basic Linux and shell scripting skills (PHP, Python, LAMP)
• Self-starter and independent worker
• Good verbal and written communications skills
• Experience with enterprise data warehouses a plus
• MySQL Management Certifications highly desired
